Charles "Spark" Seger, 77, Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 26, 1934, in Rossiter, a son of the late Sherman and Robina (Johnson) Seger.
July 14, 1956, he married, Virginia L. (Stiteler) Seger, of Punxsutawney, who survives.
Mr. Seger was a member of the Rossiter Sportsmans' Club. He was also an avid gardner and, most of all, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two sons, Ronald Seger and wife Sherry of Rossiter and Terry Seger and wife Rhonda of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Ronald "Butch" Seger and Harold "Pug" Seger, both of Rossiter; a sister, Geneva "Teed" Rypczyk of Hermatige; three grandchildren, Katie Colgan and husband Nate, Daniel Seger and fiancé Sam Engleholm and Michele Seger; and two great-grandchildren, Kalie Colgan and Natalie Colgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Jean "Dot" Bonicalzi.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Bickings officiating.
Interment is private.
