Charles John Hook, 76

Charles John Hook, 76, Mooresville, N.C., formerly of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

A graduate of Punxsutawney High School, Mr. Hook was a pipefitter by trade for General Motors in Lockport, N.Y., having served on the Apprentice Program.

He was a member of the UAW Local 686 in Lockport and sang in the glee club at General Motors.

A dedicated husband and father, Mr. Hook was also dedicated to going to church; loved being retired in Florida; and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling and being with his loving family and friends.

All will miss his humor.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Carol Jean (Menear) Hook of Mooresville; his sons, Kevin Hook of Florida, Randy Hook and wife Kathy and children Melissa and Kyle of New York; Tim Hook of New York and family, including Brooke of Florida, Tim John of Michigan, Geddy of New York, Courtney of Nevada and Megan of New York; a daughter, Wendy LaBarre and children Katelyn and Nicholas of North Carolina; step-children Tammy Donaldson and husband Kevin and son Colin of Pennsylvania, Shelly Winfrey of Colorado, Richard Glass and wife Angela and their children, Brenna and Kaylee of Maryland; two great-grandchildren; sisters Marion Ramsey and Irene Hook of New York; and a sister-in-law, Karen Hook of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen (Oship) Hook, and a brother, Dennis Hook.

He was cremated at Minnich Funeral Home in Hagerstown, Md.

A service for Mr. Hook will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Mahaffey Cemetery for the immediate family, with the Rev. John White officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Minnich Funeral Home in Hagerstown.
