Charles Henry “Chub” Irvin, 92

Charles Henry “Chub” Irvin, 92, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2013, in Glendale, Ariz.

He was born Nov. 15,1920, in Big Run, Pa., a son of Benjamin W. Irvin and Mae Laura Bowers.

After serving in World War II in the Army Air Force (P-38 squadron), he spent his working years at the Citizens National Bank of Big Run in every capacity, retiring as bank CEO in 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen L. Reams (Yohe) Irvin; a daughter, Cheryl L. Brownell; a son, John C. Irvin; two stepsons, Gary and Roger Yohe; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Charles has three surviving sisters, Eloise Borah, Katherine Trithart and Martha Cole; and a brother, Edward Irvin.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin Jr., Robert and Malcolm; and a sister, Muriel Irvin.

After many years in Big Run, he and Helen, a Punxsutawney native, retired to Daytona Beach Fla., in 1994, and then moved to Glendale, Ariz., in 1996.

As per his wishes, no services will be held in Arizona but, with the return of his and Helen's ashes to Big Run at some future time, to their plot at the Fairview Cemetery, a memorial wake may be announced.
