Charles A. Bennett, 55, Mahaffey, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1956, in Clearfield, a son of Freda (Lee) Bennett, who survives, of Mahaffey, and the late Orvis Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was a 1973 graduate of Purchase Line High School. He was the owner and operator of Bennett’s Body Shop for more than 35 years.

He was an avid turkey hunter and a loving son, brother and true friend who will be truly missed.

In addition to his mother, surviving relatives include four brothers, Ken Bennett and wife Jackie of DuBois, Tom Bennett and Leroy Bennett, both of Mahaffey, and Fred Bennett and wife Susan of Cherry Tree; two sisters, Diane Rainey and husband Bill of Mahaffey, and Mona Murray and husband Ken of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Margaret Bennett, and Ash and Dora Lee.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Waldron Funeral Home, Mahaffey.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at the funeral home.

Private interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
