Celebrating by giving

At several recent social events and meetings, members of the Jefferson County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) have been celebrating the organization's 75th anniversary by collecting paper goods, personal hygiene items and laundry products for use in the shelters operated by the Jefferson-Clarion County Community Action, Inc.'s Crossroads Projects. Although the original goal was to gather 75 items, the total easily surpassed that figure, as evidenced by the large assortment of merchandise which several PASR members delivered to Cathy Riggie (second from right), who is the Domestic Violence Service Coordinator for JCCCA. Making the presentation (left to right) are S. Thomas Curry, director, Region 6, PASR; Angela Gigliotti, chapter secretary; Riggie; and Roxie Miles, chapter chairperson of the Recreo and L/PEC committees. The shelters are always in need of supplies like these, as well as snack foods for children. Anyone interested in donating items should call (814) 938-3580.
