Cecil James Payne, 89, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.

He was born March 7, 1924, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Henry James and Ivy Theola (Bowen) Payne.

He was married to Elizabeth Ann (Jordan) Payne, who preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2003.

For many years, he owned and operated the Payne and Pennington Television Sales and Service Center in Punxsutawney.

Cecil played the clarinet in the Punxsutawney High School Band, as well as playing in many local bands.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, K. Earl Payne and Lloyd Payne; and by three sisters, Mable L. Payne Bowers, Verna B. Payne Lingenfelter and Dororthy M. Payne Summerson.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Brett Swanson officiating.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
