Carolyn F. Confer, 71, Sigel, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at home.

She was born June 25, 1939, in Sigel, a daughter of the late Chester and Francis (Smith) Fiscus.

She was married to Richard R. “Dick” Confer, who preceded her in death Nov. 10, 2001.

Mrs. Confer was a homemaker and previously worked at the Farmer’s Inn in Sigel.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Harry Confer and wife Glenda, and John Confer and wife Pam, all of Sigel, and Billy Confer and wife Cheryl of Brookville; two daughters, Marie Smith and husband Gene of Punxsutawney, and Kay Shaffer and husband Dave of Brookville; four brothers, John Fiscus of Garrettsville, Ohio, and Lanny Fiscus, Don Fiscus and Bobby Fiscus, all of Sigel; and two sisters, Marcy Neill of Sigel, and Connie Ingram of Oakdale; a sister-in-law, Marg Fiscus of Beaver Falls; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Fiscus; and a sister, Kay Fiscus.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating.

Interment will be in the Edeburn Hill Cemetery, Heath Township.
