Carolyn F. Black, 69, Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Clarion, a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Brinkley) Sloan.
Ms. Black loved shopping, watching old movies and spending time with her family.
Surviving relatives include a son, Bob Black; three daughters, Diane Black, Shelly Fetterman, and Sandy Black and companion John Jacobs, all of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Robert Sloan and wife Darlene of Clarion, and Thomas Nuheffer of Brookville; three sisters, Patti McCall and husband Bub of Allison Park, and Martha Park and Annie Sloan, both of Brookville; six grandchildren, Ann Shields and husband Cory, T.J. Fetterman and wife Sasha, Frankie Fetterman, Matt Black and Tyler Black and Chad Holeva; two great-grandchildren, Timmy Randall Fetterman and Sheridan Shields; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Sloan; two sisters, Mary Sloan and Florence Reichard; a grandson, John Paul Holeva; a son-in-law, Tim Fetterman; and a brother-in-law, James Park.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where a blessing service will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo.
Interment will be private at Circle Hill Cemetery.
