Carolyn B. Phillips, 84, Punxsutawney, formerly of Mahaffey, passed away July 8, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.

She was born March 3, 1927, in Bell Township, a daughter of the late Bruce R. and Linda (Passmore) Young.

She was married to A. Ray Phillips, who preceded her in death.

Surviving relatives include four brothers, Reed N. Young of California, Franklin Young and wife Patricia of Wendell N.C., John C. Young and wife Doris of McGees Mills and Bruce R. Young and wife Jolene of New Bern, N.C.; a special nephew who was like a son to her, David Phillips and wife Mary Novario-Phillips of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Tina Keller officiating.

A private interment is to follow at Crown Crest Cemetery in Hyde.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mahaffey Methodist Church, W. Main St., Mahaffey Pa. 15757.
