Carole G. Mankovich, 67, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her home.

She was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Edward A. and Geraldine (Beech) Gerst.

On May 23, 1971, she married Dr. Dennis G. Mankovich, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1990.

She was a graduate of Slippery Rock University.

She was a member of the Library Board and the Irving Club. She enjoyed quilting, teaching and reading.

Surviving relatives include four sons, Rich Mankovich and wife Sharon of Philadelphia, Brandon Mankovich and wife Camillia of Sarasota, Florida, Matthew Mankovich and wife Deb of Brooklyn, New York, and Douglas Mankovich of Wood Ridge, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Marston and Arden Mankovich and Dahlia and Oliver Mankovich; two sisters, Geraldine Knable and husband David of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dr. Nancy Clelland of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Close family and friends are invited to attend a funeral dinner to be held at the Punxsutawney Country Club at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Carole’s memory, to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Patient Care Fund.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
