Carol L. Motter, 68

Carol L. Motter, 68, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Marienville, a daughter of the late William and Goldie E. (Irwin) Covel.

 Ms. Motter loved reading, watching “Jeopardy!” and cooking.

Surviving relatives include a son, John R. Motter, Jr. of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Cheryl L. Motter of Punxsutawney; a brother, Ronald Covel and wife Thai of New Castle; a sister, Janice Dieble and husband James of Knox; a grandson, Nicholas Motter of Punxsutawney; her former husband, John R. Motter, Sr. and wife Shirley of Canton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Pringle.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Al Kimmel officiating. 

Interment to follow at North Forest Cemetery, Marienville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
