Carmen J. Cuccaro Cook, 86, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his home in Punxsutawney.

He was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Benjamin Cook and Mary (Rich) Cook.

He was a member of the United States Army, serving during World War II.

He attended SS. Cosmas & Damian Church.

He was employed by Jefferson Wholesale Grocery.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He loved his children and grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include five children, Benjamin D. Cook of Punxsutawney, Anthony M. Cook of Punxsutawney, Steven J. Cook and wife Barbara of Arizona, Jeffrey J. Cook of Florida and Patrice Theobolt and husband Gary of McKees Rocks; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Jordan, Steven, Ryan, Eric, Shane, Mike and Cassie; and a sister, Jane Iggins of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Anthony Cook; and three sisters, Margaret Long, Rose Uveges and Theresa Brudnock.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at SS. Cosmas & Damian Church, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Ricardo.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
