Carl H. McKee, 94, of Steffy Church Road, Rossiter, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at DuBois Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Banks Township, Indiana County, a son of the late John W. and Dora C. (Houck) McKee.Mr. McKee was a graduate of Glen Campbell High School.

Mr. McKee was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany and France during World War II.

Jan. 15, 1947, he married Elizabeth Kinter of Marion Center.  She preceded him in death May 20, 1995.

He was a member of Steffy United Methodist Church, where he also taught Sunday School for a number of years.

Mr. McKee operated a sawmill, did some farming and drove school buses for both Pollick and Cameron’s Bus companies. He also worked at P&N Coal Company.

He was a member of the Mahoning Hills Senior Center, where he enjoyed the fellowship and activities immensely. He also enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and restoring old farm tractors.

He is survived by a brother, Jaye C. McKee and wife Marilyn of Troutville; and a niece, Charlene Kinter of Indiana.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Quay (Gretta) Neal; and two brothers, Ernest McKee and John McKee.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Paul Thompson.

Interment will be in Marion Center Cemetery.
