C. “Ray” Pearce, 53

C. “Ray” Pearce, 53, of Mahaffey died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his home, where he most wanted to be, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

The son of Calvin Edsel and Imogene “Jean” (Muth) Pearce, he was born on Dec. 18, 1959, in DuBois.

Ray was a graduate of Purchase Line High School.

A man who greatly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, Ray especially loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and experiencing the freedom to head out on road trips.

Ray was a social member of the Sons of the American Legion in Glen Campbell.

He was employed as a Petroleum Driver for CLI Industries - Sheetz.

He married his wife, Linda Ann (Smith) Huey Pearce, on Nov. 10, 2011.

Ray is survived by his wife Linda of Mahaffey; step-son Terry “Pete” Huey and wife Angela of Allison Park, Pa.; two step-grandchildren, Liam and Calla Huey; his half-sister, Elizabeth Pearce, of Detroit, Mich.; and two nephews, Shawn Wyatt and James Wyatt, of Detroit, Mich.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Charles Muth and wife Barbara, Ronald Muth and wife Geri and Rodger Muth and wife Sharon, all of Luthersburg; Earl Muth and wife Grace of DuBois; Florence Mitchell and husband Harry “Sonny” of Reynoldsville, Martha Wachob and husband William of Luthersburg, Mary Bennett of Florida and Carol Wachob of Brockport.

He was preceded in death by his parents: his stepdaughter, Melanie L. Huey; aunt Donna Holder; and uncle Kenneth Muth.

Friends and family will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd., 18944 Rte 286 Hwy, Hillsdale, Indiana Co., Pa. and 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, with Pastor Calvin Duvall officiating.
