PUNXSUTAWNEY — A Brookville man suffered moderate injuries following a motorcycle-versus-vehicle accident at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Dutchtown Road and Route 36/North Main Street.

Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police said Andrew M. Duncan, 35, Punxsy, was stopped at a stop sign at the Dutchtown Road and Route 36/North Main Street intersection, while Thomas E. Curry, 52, Brookville, was traveling north on a 2010 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

Police said Duncan pulled into the intersection and into Curry’s path.

Curry applied the brakes and steered to the right to avoid Duncan’s 2000 Hyundai Accent, but was unable to do so and struck the driver’s side door, police said. Curry’s motorcycle then fell onto its side and traveled east onto Dutchtown Road, police said.

Both Duncan and an 11-year-old passenger were wearing seatbelts and were uninjured, police said. Curry suffered moderate injuries and was transported via Jefferson County EMS to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a helmet and eye protection, police said.

The Punxsutawney Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS responded to the scene.
