BREAKING NEWS: Roads closed due to flooding

June 27, 2013

The following state roads are closed in Jefferson County due to flooding and will open once the water recedes.

Route 3001 (Pheasant Hollow Road) is closed in both directions between Route 3014 (Sprankle Mills Road) in Oliver Township and Route 536 in Ringgold Township (Pheasant Hollow Area.)

Route 536 is closed in both directions between Route 36 in Young Township and Porter Road in Perry Township (Hamilton/Frostburg Area.)

Route 310 is closed in both directions between Tenth Street in Winslow Township and Route 2023 (Knoxdale Road) in McCalmont Township (Punxsutawney to Reynoldsville.)

Route 119 is closed in both directions in Henderson Township between Rock Dump Road and Sykesville/Troutville Road (Stump Creek to Sykesville Borough.)

Also, Route 36 traffic is restricted to one lane each direction between Markton and Coolspring. Please slow down and use caution while travelling through this area. You may experience congestion and delays,

Remember to slow down and be alert for changing weather and roadway conditions in heavy downpours. Don’t drive through standing water. If you pull off the road, make sure you are completely off the roadway in a safe spot.
