BREAKING NEWS: PUNXSY WOMAN CHARGED WITH DRUG VIOLATIONS, CORRUPT ORGANIZATION AND MONEY LAUNDERING
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police reported on Wednesday that M. Lisa Saldana, 52, of Wayne Avenue in Punxsutawney, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. and charged with several violations of the drug act — including possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and additional criminal charges to include money laundering and corrupt organizations — for incidents allegedly taking place between July 2012 and May 2014.
Saldana was arraigned before District Judge Douglas Chambers, and bond was set at $5,000,000 straight cash. She was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
Police said the charges stemmed from an investigation into Saldana allegedly possessing with intent to distribute and distributing synthetic marijuana and bath salts, as well as distribution of packaging material, cutting agents and other assorted drug paraphernalia related to heroin trafficking.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released when they become available.
