PUNXSUTAWNEY — Punxsutawney Borough Police are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian that occurred at
approximately 12:45 p.m. last Monday at the intersection of West Mahoning Street and Church Street in Punxsutawney.

According to police, an unnamed female reported that she was struck by a small car while she was crossing at the crosswalk near Church Street on West Mahoning Street.

Police said the vehicle that hit her was stopped in the westbound traffic lane allowing her to cross when another small, mid-size car came up behind the vehicle that was stopped, failed to see it was stopped and pushed the stopped car into her left leg.

Police said the second vehicle was black in color, and both vehicles were last seen heading west on West Mahoning Street.

At this time, this hit-and-run accident is listed as a closed investigation, to be reopened upon receipt of information leading to the identity of the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident involving the pedestrian, police said.
