Betty Jean Stahlman, 91

Betty Jean Stahlman, 91, New Bethlehem, died Friday Oct. 14, 2011, at Brookville Hospital.

She was born June 3, 1920, in Limestone Township, Clarion County, a daughter of the late James Orr and Elva Mae (Showers) Collett.

July 31, 1937, she married Darrell Charles Stahlman, who preceded her in death July 10, 1971.

Mrs. Stahlman, along with her family, owned and operated the family business, B.J. Stahlman Trucking in New Bethlehem.

She was a member of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and a former member of the BPW. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Gerald L. Stahlman and wife Eula of Altavista, Va., Robert J. Stahlman and wife Carol of New Bethlehem, and Alan D. Stahlman and wife Mae of Mayport; a daughter, Judith L.

Miller of Summerville;seven grandchildren, Darrell Stahlman, Todd Stahlman, Brian Miller, Brad Miller, Brent Miller, Scott Stahlman and Barry Stahlman; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and five sisters, Alice Ferguson of Clarion, Helen Engle of Timblin, Elva Mae Corbett of Clarion, Sara Collett of Apollo, and Beatrice Snyder of Clarion.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Ferguson and Mary Lou Yakim.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, at the Rupert Funeral Home, 301 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dottie Kunselman officiating.

Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery at Frogtown, Clarion County.
Memorial contributions may be given in Mrs. Stahlman's name to the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church/Building Fund, 403 Penn St., New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242, or to the charity of one’s choice.
