Bethany “Beth” Sue Peterson, 29

Bethany “Beth” Sue Peterson, 29, Clymer, died Monday, July 25, 2011, in Grant Township, Indiana County.

She was born Oct. 2, 1981, in Indiana, the daughter of Larry G. and Glenda S. (Edwards) Peterson, who survive, of Clymer.

Miss Peterson was a member of the Marion Center First United Methodist Church in Marion Center, where she was active with the church’s music ministry. She served as the choir accompanist; played piano for Sunday services; and was a member of both the bell choir and the brass ensemble.

She was a graduate of the Marion Center High School Class of 2000. Miss Peterson furthered her education at the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute, where she was the valedictorian of the 2002 class.

Miss Peterson loved to cook, not just as a profession, but also as a hobby. She loved reading and music and possessed a special fondness for animals and pets.

She was a chef at The Home-Made Restaurant. Previously, she worked for a lengthy time as banquet manager for the Hyatt Regency located in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, surviving relatives include a brother, Scott Peterson and wife Sarah; a niece, Madalyn; a nephew, Landon Peterson, all of Rochester Mills; her maternal grandmother, Betty Edwards of Clymer; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Twila Peterson of Mahaffey; and numerous aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Paul Edwards.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., in Hillsdale, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Marion Center First United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the church with the Rev. Carlton White officiating.

A private family interment service will take place at the Otterbein Cemetery near Mahaffey.
