A benefit event for Donna J. Rhoades will be held from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday at the Punxsy Eagles Club.

Rhoades, who was a former Groundhog Festival Committee member and former owner of Winslow Pizza, began battling uterine/ovarian cancer back in 2010.

After a long series of treatments and PET scans were completed, Rhoades was thought to be cancer-free.

Months later, another PET scan was conducted, and Rhoades was diagnosed with a cancerous lymph node in her abdomen.

All proceeds from the event will go towards Rhoades’ medical and travel expenses.

There will be food available at the event, in addition to live music from "Bruce, Chris, Cory and Kevin."

A silent auction will be held featuring an autographed puck by Penguins' veteran goalie Tomas Vokoun, an ammo basket and numerous donations from local merchants and friends of Rhoades.

Tickets are available in advance for $6 or at the door on the night of the event for $7; one must be age 21 and up to attend.

For more information, contact Kathy Slagle at (814) 952-8756 or Lesa Walker at (824) 249-2083.

Sponsors (from left) Slagle, Walker, Jackie Miller and Brandi Walker posed for a photo in preparation of the event.
