Beatlemania featured at Groundhog Festival’s full first day; Tuesday's schedule

Monday was the first full day of events at the Groundhog Festival in Barclay Square, and it saw plenty of action, which was wrapped up by a performance by Beatlemania Magic, a national touring Beatles tribute band.

SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY, JULY 1

• 9:30 a.m. – Registration for Teddy Bear Picnic — Categories for Teddy Bears: Christmas Bear; Tooth Fairy Bear; Doctor & Nurses Bear; Best Friends Bear; My Bear and I (Dressed Alike)

• 10 a.m. — Teddy Bear Picnic, Sponsored by Punxsutawney Career Women’s Club. In case of rain, picnic will be held on the 2nd floor of Eagles across from Barclay Square

• 10 a.m.-Noon — Children’s activities (ages 6-12) at the Lattimer House. This year’s theme is “Native America.” Sponsored by Punxsutawney Historical Society

• 10 a.m.-7 p.m. — Friends of the Library Used Book Sale, across from the park at the Punxsy Eagles Club

• 10 a.m..-3 p.m. — Children Activities/Information, Jefferson County Head Start

• 10:30 a.m.-noon — Dennie Huber, Balloons

• Noon-12:30 p.m. — Airborne Jugglers

• 1-1:30 p.m. — Dennie Huber, Magic

• 2-2:30 p.m. — Airborne Jugglers

• 3-3:30 p.m. — Dennie Huber, Magic

• 4-4:30 p.m. — Airborne Jugglers

• 7:30-8:30 p.m. — The New Individuals, Oldies SPONSORED BY FEMCO MACHINE (Celebrating its 50-year anniversary)

• 9-10 p.m. – The New Individuals, Oldies, 2nd show

Week-Long Events
Food Vendors in Barclay Square; Arts and Crafts Vendors; Sponsor Vendors; Bring Lawn Chairs, No Seating Available; Rides and Games Provided by Fun Zone, 1 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. (Tentative schedule, subject to change); Bake Sales by Various Churches and Organizations; REACT First-Aid Booth
