Barbara Ruth Harris, 55

Barbara Ruth Harris, 55, of Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Oct. 25, 1957, in Fall River, Mass., a daughter of Glenn Miller and wife Harriet of Seminole, Fla., and the late Sydell (Levine) Miller.

Mrs. Harris was the former president of the Sisterhood of Temple B' Nai Israel in Olean, N.Y.

Her hobbies were Bingo, which she loved, and listening to her son play piano.

As a child, she and her sister sang songs while doing the dishes.

Barbara adored her grandchildren and loved being around them.

Surviving relatives include a son, Benjamin J. Harris and partner Philip Keirstead of Dumfries, Va.; two daughters, Jessica L. Mondi and husband Christopher of Punxsutawney, and Samantha E. Carr and husband Logan
of Wesson, Miss.; two brothers, John Miller and wife Linda of Franklin, Tenn., and Stuart Miller and partner Michael Oehler of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Susan Kaplan and husband Alan of Langhorn, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Jeremiah Mondi and Noble Mondi of Punxsutawney.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at the Punxsutawney Jewish Cemetery in Cloe.
