Barbara A. Mowry, 81, The Villages, Fla., passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

Mrs. Mowry moved to The Villages from Pittsburgh 17 years years ago, where she retired as a teacher in the Northgate School District after 33 years.

In The Villages, she was a member of New Life Presbyterian Church and the Philosophy Club.

She was the beloved wife of Richard Mowry and is also survived by her daughter, Ellen Shore of Pittsburgh; a son, David Mowry of Cleveland, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Nelson H. and Olivia Boyd.

Services for Mrs. Mowry will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home, 134 N. Hwy 27/441, Lady Lake, Fla., with Pastor Bill Birdsall officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow at a later date at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Pittsburgh.
