Barbara A. (Lightner) Sturgeon, 67, of Curwensville, formerly of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Clearfield Hospital.
Ms. Sturgeon was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late John F. Lightner and Hilda (Fleming) Lightner.
Barbara was the last surviving member of her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by many friends.
Surviving relatives include a son, Randy Lee and wife Michele of Mahaffey; a daughter, Tracy Lee and husband Carlos De la Torre of Seattle, Wash.; and a granddaughter, Cassandra Edwards of Hagerstown, Md.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her husband, David Sturgeon; eight brothers, Francis Lightner, Merle "Shorty" Lightner, Nick Lightner, Donald "Tom" Lightner, Dale Lightner, John "June"
Lightner Jr., Howard "Hen" Lightner and Philip "Butch" Lightner; and three sisters, Helen "Sis" Mummert, Maysie Artley and Anna Mae Ishman.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Waldron Funeral home in Mahaffey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Turner officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
