Barbara Ann Pifer, 63

Barbara Ann Pifer, 63, Reynoldsville, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medial Center, DuBois.

She was born May 10, 1948, in Henderson Township, a daughter of the late Harry Blair and Inez Naomi (Pifer) Kerr.

May 18, 1968, she married Charles A. Pifer, who survives, of Reynoldsville.

Mrs. Pifer graduated with honors from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1966.

She was a former employee of Standard Pennant in Big Run.

Mrs. Pifer was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Reynoldsville.

An avid bowler, she served as president of the DuBois Women's Bowling Association.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two sons, Bradley Pifer and wife Ruth, and Jeffrey Pifer and wife Gail, all of Reynoldsville; four brothers, Theodore Kerr and wife Harriet, James Kerr and wife Shirley, and Dale Kerr and wife Gloria, all of Punxsutawney, and David Kerr and wife Christa of DuBois; a sister, Kathryn Bowser of DuBois; and five grand-children.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Paradise United Church of Christ in Reynoldsville with the Rev. Mary Ellen Hoffman and the Rev. Barry Fillman officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville.
