Armed robbery attempt in DuBois

January 5, 2013

DUBOIS — Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Friday at the W. Scribner Avenue S&T Bank — four days after an armed robbery occurred at the same location.

DuBois City Police said a male entered the bank at 2:37 p.m. Friday, displayed a handgun and demanded cash, but fled prior to receiving any.

Also, police said a similar call was reported at a business in the Sandy Plaza at 3:47 p.m. Friday.

The actor at the bank was last seen on W. Fir Alley heading toward High Street.

Police describe him as a white male, between 5’5” and 5’7”, who was wearing a dark, hooded jacket with thin, light stripes down both sleeves, blue jeans, a camouflage mask and dark gloves.

Officers from the city of DuBois and Sandy Township are assisting each other on these calls and are working together on the investigations.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 1-800-689-3535 or 814-765-1533.
