Arman F. Bonante, 88

Arman F. Bonante, 88, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Born on Dec. 28, 1923, in Troutville, Pa., he was the son of the late Andrew and Pompa (Rubino) Bonante.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.

On June 24, 1944, he married Bessie M. (Frantz) Bonante. She survives.
For 53 years, he was the owner and operator of Bonante’s Garage in Sykesville.

He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville for many years.
He was also a member of the American Legion in Sykesville, and he enjoyed the restoration of older antique cars.

He is survived by five children, Judy Sharp and husband Harry of Sykesville, Arman Bonante, Jr. and wife Laurie of Reynoldsville,
June Bonante of Reynoldsville, Jill Hazuda and husband Richard of Sykesville and Michael Bonante of Sykesville; two brothers, John Bonante of Erie, Pa. and James Bonante and wife Marion of Punxsutawney; a sister, Lucy McKee of Erie, Pa.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Wells Bonante; a brother, Frank Bonante; and a sister, Nancy Bonante.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Deb Rogosky officiating.

Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
