Annual Relay for Life Leads survivors down road to a cure, raises over $39K

The day may have started out a bit cloudy, but by evening the sun was out and shining down on each and every cancer survivor in attendance at the 2013 Relay for Life of Punxsutawney event, held Saturday. This year's theme was the Wizard of Oz: "There's No Place Like HOPE: Follow the Yellow Brick Road to a Cure." PUNXSUTAWNEY — The day started off a bit cloudy and grey, but by evening the sun rose high in the sky and began shining down at just the right moment — the Survivor Ceremony.

The Relay for Life of Punxsutawney event was held Saturday, with 13 teams participating in this year’s event, which raised over $39,000, according to Jessica Carbaugh, Relay for Life representative.
