The Annual Groundhog Day Corsage and Boutonniere Sale is once again underway.

What was started by the Women's Club 10 to 15 years ago has now been passed along to two of its most dedicated members.

Together, Jennifer Roberts and Katie Laska are working to bring an old tradition back into the town just in time for Groundhog Day.

Roberts, Punxsy PRIDE corsage coordinator, has been instrumental in starting it up again as well as putting it together.

After contacting Laska, a member of the PRIDE organization, with her idea, they decided to start making and selling corsages and boutonnieres.

The goal is to not only raise money for the PRIDE organization but to bring back the tradition that once existed long ago.

That tradition consisted of wearing corsages and boutonnieres on a daily basis.

Both will consist of red flowers with a white ribbon.

The cost for each will be $5, with all proceeds going to PRIDE, which will put the proceeds back into the community as well as use them for downtown events.

Orders are being taken until Jan. 30 and will be delivered from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 31.

To place an order, contact Katie Laska at 590-6868 or Jennifer Roberts at 952-9169.
