Annabelle Painter, 79

Annabelle Painter, 79, Big Run, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Big Run (Foxburg), a daughter of the late Edward and Pheobie (Guthrie) Frantz.

Dec. 25, 1949, she married Earnest Painter, who preceded her in death July 28, 2008.

She was Methodist by faith and had attended St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run.

She previously worked in the chenille department at the Standard Pennant Factory in Big Run.

Mrs. Painter loved being with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and baking.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Harry E. Painter and wife Kim, Ernest Painter Jr. and wife Diana, and Daniel Painter, all of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Frantz and wife Roxanne of Michigan, and Robert Frantz and companion Virginia States of Big Run; and two sisters, Carol Adamczyk and husband Anthony of Big Run, and Dolores Delrosso and husband Anthony of Kansas.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathie Ann Mills; a son-in-law, James L. Mills; a granddaughter, Samantha Painter; six brothers, Bill Guthrie, Millard, Chuck and Eddie Frantz and Jim and Paul Frantz; and two sisters, Emma Jean Lucky and Mabel Wajteck.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday Jan. 21, 2012, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 2012, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Al Kimmel.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Big Run.

Memorial donations may be made in granddaughter Samantha Painter’s memory to Make-A-Wish, 312 West Mahoning St., Punxsutawney, Pa. 15767.
