Anna M. Serge, 87

Anna M. Serge, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Serge was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Valier, a daughter of the late Nicholas Schepis and Mary (Sano) Schepis.

Nov. 11, 1947, she married the love of her life, Joseph M. Serge, who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2012.

Mrs. Serge was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.

She worked many years as a legal secretary for Attorneys Ferraro and Young before retiring.

Mrs. Serge enjoyed needlework, reading, word and jigsaw puzzles, playing the piano, going out to eat and shopping. Her favorite times were spent with family.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Joseph C. Serge and wife LuAnn of Glenshaw and Richard J. Serge and wife Debra of Hampton, Va.; a daughter, Donna Fallon and husband Ray of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren, Lisa Fallon, Kerry Fallon, Joe Serge and wife Jaime, Mike Serge, Dan Serge, Evan Serge, Stephen Serge and Ricky Serge and
wife Gina; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Serge and Evan Serge; two brothers, Nicholas Schepis of Punxsutawney and Samuel Schepis of Michigan; a cousin, Goldie Sembric of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Anthony Schepis, Albert Schepis, Joseph Schepis, Frank Schepis and Felix Schepis; and a sister, Goldie Schepis.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Private interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
