Anna “Rita” (Porada) Clark, 71

December 15, 2012

Anna “Rita” (Porada) Clark, 71, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Michael M. and Ann (Knopick) Porada.

On May 20, 1967, she married William Francis Clark, who survives.

Mrs. Clark was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.

She was everyone’s “Aunt Rita” — a very friendly, loving and nurturing woman who took care of everyone. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.

She always had a bright smile and cheery attitude, regardless of difficult times that she faced in the past few years.

Laughter and the love of her family always made things possible.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Frances Anne Clark of Punxsutawney and fiancé Michael Barilar of Anita and Christine Marie Clark of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Lucas John and Zoe Anna Yingling; two brothers, Mike Porada and wife Linda of Punxsutawney and Larry Porada and wife Jackie; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Means and Mary Ann Porada, both of Punxsu-tawney; and a special caregiver, Chris Smelko.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Porada; and a great-nephew, Kevin Joel Porada II.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Rita’s memory to SS.C.D. School, 205 Chestnut St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, or Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Dr., DuBois, PA 15801.
