Andrew Vincent Petroff, 82

Andrew Vincent Petroff, 82, Sewickley, died Saturday, March 12, 2011. 
He was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Michael and Julia (Jurcenko) Petroff.

He was married to his wife of 31 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Midock) Petroff, who preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
Mr. Petroff graduated from Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic High School in Punxsutawney. He retired as assistant lockmaster from the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sewickley; the Slovak Catholic SOKOL; The Ukrainian Club; the VFW; and the Sons of Italy of Ambridge.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandra (Petroff) Dickson of Fair Oaks; two brothers, Bob Petroff and wife Marcie, and Carl Petroff and wife Ruth; two grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan; 44 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Mike and John Petroff; and five sisters, Marge Havrilla, Mary Kopas, Patty Glose, Helen Kachur and Julia Gigliotti.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Rd.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sewickley.

Interment with military honors will follow at the church cemetery.
