Alma J. McLaughlin, 84

Alma J. McLaughlin, 84, a lifelong resident of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at UPMC-Hamot in Erie.

She was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Mahan) Melchick.

She was married to William McLaughlin, who preceded her in death in 1999.

Mrs. McLaughlin was a seamstress at Pramco in Punxsutawney for many years. She enjoyed shopping, sewing and traveling.

Surviving relatives include a brother, C.F. Melchick of Punxsutawney; a brother-in-law, George Carlson of Erie; four nieces, Jean Carlson of Erie, Sherry Baniszewski and husband David of Erie, Marianne Ingros and husband Mark of Punxsutawney, and Jacquelyne Bainbridge and husband Scott of Englewood, Colo.; and seven great-nephews.

No calling hours will be held.

Friends are invited to a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at the Lakelawn Memorial Park Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., Erie.
