Alice Jean Burkett, 85, Summerville, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.

She was born June 27, 1925, in Brookville, a daughter of the late Harry B. and Florence (Galbraith) Hetrick.

She was married to Thomas F. Stahlman, who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1950. She then married Albert W. “Groundy” Burkett, who preceded her in death June 23, 1997.

Mrs. Burkett worked for Sylvania in Brookville and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brookville.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Tom Stahlman and wife Betty of Brookville, and Gary M. Burkett and wife Donna of Summerville; a sister, Shirley Carrier of Clarion; a brother, Harry B. “Pete” Hetrick of Brookville; six grandchildren, Kim Carrier, Becky Hays, and Rachel, Tammy, Thomas and Jacob Burkett; and three great-grandchildren, Quentin Burkett and Amanda and Amber Carrier.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Caves Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in the Worthville Cemetery, Ringgold Township.
