Alexander “Jake” Testut III, 66

Alexander “Jake” Testut III, 66, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He was born on Long Island, N.Y., a son of the late Alexander Testut II and Dorothy Wottawa.

Mr. Testut was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years before his medical discharge.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include two sons and a daughter, Daniel Testut and wife Toni of Gastown, Richard Testut of Homer City, and Tonjia Testut of Shelocta; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Sammon and husband Patrick of Florida, and Diane Hicks of Long Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Harmon Testut, in 1999; and a sister, Lee Fitzgerald.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, with the Rev. Julie Walz officiating.

Interment will be in the Long Island National Cemetery.
