Albert W. Mack, 89

Albert W. Mack, 89, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Wellington Heights.

He was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Albert J. and Edith (Lewis) Mack.

Oct. 4, 1942, he married Helen McQuown, who preceded him in death May 1, 2004.

Mr. Mack was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the American Legion, the B.P.O Elks No. 301 and the Punxsutawney Area Historical & Genealogical Society.

An avid bowler and golfer, Mr. Mack bowled two perfect games and achieved a hole-in-one in golf.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Mr. Mack was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a former employee of Keystone National Bank.

Surviving relatives include four sons, Richard Mack and wife Susan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kenneth Mack and wife Mary of Punxsutawney, and William Mack and wife Karen and Jeffrey Mack, all of Indiana; a daughter, Sherri Mack of Lucinda; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Rhodes and husband Clair of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Shirley McKee and husband Melvin of Allegany, N.Y.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Mack was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Setree; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Moore Mack.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Young officiating.

Interment will be at Circle Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Mack's name may be made to the Punxsutawney Historical & Genealogical Society.
