Albert A. “Cowboy” Zanaglio, 92

Albert A. "Cowboy" Zanaglio, 92, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Zanaglio was born April 18, 1920, in Florence, a son of the late Bartlow Zanaglio and Julia (Cappa) Zanaglio.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Zanaglio was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Debeck) Zanaglio.

He was a member of Ss. Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church.

He worked 38 years for the B & O Railroad before retiring, and he was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Rita Stahura and husband Michael of Armagh; four granddaughters, Julia Haigh and husband Kevin, Kristen Verba and friend Adrian Robertson, Danielle Verba and friend Rob Short, and Alysha Verba; and a great-grandchild, Jaden Matthew Saxton.

In addition to his wife, Marie, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Zanaglio, Anthony Zanaglio and George Zanaglio; and
five sisters, Lucy Smelko, Minnie Kukla, Esther Zanaglio, Elizabeth Zanaglio and Sally Mizerock.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Intombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Zanaglio's name to the Alzheimer's Research Project.
