Agnes L. "Babe" Perry, 81

Agnes L. Perry, 81, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at Mahoning Riverside Manor.

Mrs. Perry was born July 22, 1932, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Walter T. Smouse, Sr. and Agnes (Rankin) Smouse.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard C. Perry.

Agnes was a member of the Albion United Methodist Church.

She and her husband, Richard, were the founders of Perry Drilling Co. of Frostburg.

She loved gardening and having Sunday dinner with her family.

Agnes was a mentor to each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing many life experiences and guiding them through life.

She is survived by two sons, Randolph A. Perry and wife Jacque of Frostburg and Richard C. Perry II of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Sharon P. Reesman and husband Bob and Suzanne Perry, all of Punxsutawney;
one brother, Walter T. Smouse, Jr., of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Delores "Dollie" Guzzo of Punxsutawney and Shirley Durst of Edgewater, Florida; eight grandchildren, Renee Doverspike, Richard Perry, Robert Reesman, Christopher Reesman, Rebecca Pellas, Thad Perry, Leif Perry and Jesse DeChurch; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, where a funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Tom Spiker officiating.

Private interment will follow at Ridgemount Cemetery.
