Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary teacher sorority in Brookville with a membership consisting of active and retired teachers, recently spent several hours at the Emerickville United Methodist Church making school uniforms for children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Ethiopia.

Pictured are Sandy Lasher (left), an active second-grade teacher, and Jamie Reitz, a retired teacher, with the finished product of the sorority’s work for the day.

Alpha Delta Kappa isn’t the only group working on the project, and there are plenty of ways to help. You can make a donation via PayPal at GCOCUniformFund@comcast.net or by check, payable to Gateway Church of Christ Uniform Account.

All checks should be sent to the following address: GCOC Uniform Account, c/o Anita or Dave McCracken, 13937 Route 322, Brookville, PA 15825.

You can also sponsor a uniform with a $20 donation or volunteer to help sew. For more information, contact Dave or Anita McCracken at (814) 849-5749 or (814) 715-1925, or follow the group on Facebook at Uniforms for the Community Project: Ethiopia.
