PUNXSUTAWNEY — After having various close contests this winter, the ninth-grade Chucks ended their season on a high note in the final game.

The season-ending victory gave Punxsy its 10th victory when it defeated Bradford, 45-30, on Friday in Punxsutawney.

The quality second frame gave the home club a 24-10 halftime tally.

The two teams played evenly the second two periods, with Punxsy edging out a 21-20 margin.

“It was a good win and a good way to finish the season,” noted Chucks’ head coach Todd Heigley. “This was one of the best defensive efforts of the year.”

Keeston Perry produced nine tallies and grabbed three boards.

Peyton Graham chipped in eight points, three assists and a carom.

Braxton Giavedoni had a solid all-around affair. Giavedoni scored five points, stole three balls, handed out three assists and grabbed a pair of rebounds.
