DUBOIS — Reynoldsville resident Douglas Giles recently received a brand-new 2012 Ford Mustang GT for an extremely discounted rate — $5.

It was a normal day for Giles when he went into Backstreet Beer Distributor, in Reynoldsville, and bought a $5 Mustang instant lottery ticket.

He scratched off the ticket and felt the feeling that anyone who has ever bought a ticket hopes for: The excitement of winning a grand prize.
Giles had the choice between $60,000 and a brand new 2012 Mustang GT. The choice was easy for Giles.

“I’ve always wanted a Mustang,” he said.

Friday, Giles received his kona blue Mustang from Murray Ford, DuBois.
His wife was very happy, and she said there was no question that he should choose the car.

He is looking forward to taking the car out with his wife when spring finally comes.

“Get that groundhog to give it (spring) to me early,” he said.

When spring eventually arrives, Giles plans on taking several trips with everyone who has been asking for a ride.

“First nice day out, I’ll put the top down and go for a ride,” he said.

The Pennsylvania Lottery is the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds solely to programs that benefit older residents and has contributed $21.5 billion to programs that include property tax and rent rebates; free transit and reduced-fare shared rides; the low-cost prescription drug programs PACE and PACENET; long-term living services; and the 52 Area Agencies on Aging, including full- and part-time senior centers throughout the state.
