Tennis opens PIAA State Tournament today

This afternoon, Amber Ward (pictured) and the Lady Chucks girls' tennis squad will participate in the opening round of the PIAA State Championship Team Championships, as they take on Indiana — the runner-up out of the WPIAL.

The Punxsy girls' soccer team will also participate in the playoffs tonight, as it opens the District IX Tournament with a semi-finals game against top-seeded Bradford at 5 p.m. in Brockway.

Seniors shine in Senior Night win

Members of the Punxsy football team were recognized on the field for Senior Night, and on the field, the seniors shined in a 42-6 win, as well.

Busy day for youngsters in Punxsy sports action

Punxsy's 9th-grade football team picked up a win over Route 36 rival Brookville on Wednesday night. Also in action were the 7th- and 8th-grade football team and the junior high basketball teams.

Lady Chucks claim their crown

The Lady Chucks tennis team traveled to St. Marys on Monday to beat the rain and beat the Lady Rovers of Brockway for the District IX team title. Pictured here are the team members who made the trip and Punxsy Head Coach Rose Graffius (far left). With the win, Punxsy advances to the state tournament, where the Lady Chucks will face a team out of the WPIAL.

Chucks win thriller over Dutch

Punxsy earned a thrilling win in comeback fashion on Friday night on the road over the St. Marys Flying Dutch.

Punxsy's girls' tennis team advanced to the District IX finals with a 3-2 win over St. Marys on the courts at PAHS on Wednesday.

The Chucks golf team was the only Punxsy squad that played host on Monday, and the Chucks weren't the kindest hosts — defeating DuBois 180-186. The girls' golf team and volleyball team also picked up victories Monday.
