Undefeated ECC ekes out Punxsy

Tonight's PAHS athletics schedule includes the following games:

• 7/8 Boys' Basketball vs. Ridgway, 4 p.m.

• 9th Boys' Basketball vs. Ridgway, 4 p.m.

• JV/Varsity Girls' Basketball at Hollidaysburg, 6/7:30 p.m.

TONIGHT'S GBB GAME RESCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY

The girls' basketball game scheduled for tonight between Punxsutawney and Elk County Catholic at PAHS has been cancelled.

The make-up date has been scheduled for Thursday, with JVs tipping off at 6 p.m. and varsity to follow.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Lady Chucks basketball team played host to Clearfield on Monday night in the first PAHS sports action of the new year, and Punxsy got things going in the right direction for 2015 with a 63-34 victory over the Lady Bison.

Route 36 Rivalry double header

Friday night, the Route 36 Rivalry was alive and well, with two different Punxsy-Brookville contests being held. In Brookville, the boys' basketball team (John Matthews pictured above) ran past the Raiders for a 59-49 victory. In wrestling, Brookville evened the score with a 60-6 win over the Chucks.

Girls' basketball outduels Brookville

Punxsy's girls' basketball team jumped out to an early lead and managed to hold on for a 38-32 victory over Route 36 Rival Brookville Thursday night in Punxsutawney.
