Groundhog Day 2013

Members of the Inner Circle made a Groundhog Day appearance in the celebration tent at Barclay Square.

Visitors listened as Ron Ploucha, co-handler, and John Griffiths, co-handler, provided some history on Groundhog Day and Punxsy Phil.

They also took questions from audience members and provided some humorous answers.

After some photo sessions with Phil, more members of the Inner Circle came in for an autograph session.

Starting things off on a musical note was Ray Lantz and Company, who performed a number of jazz songs on Feb. 2. The concert was Lantz's way of thanking the town of Punxsutawney for the set of drums they had presented to him 50 years ago. Groundhog Club Inner Circle Vice President and Fair Weatherman Jeff Lundy traded his trademark top hat for another hat dedicated to Punxsutawney Phil at the 2013 Groundhog Banquet.

Weather Channel Meteorologist Jim Cantore takes the podium at the 2013 Groundhog Banquet. Cantore was also inducted into the Punxsutawney Weather Center Meteorologist Hall of Fame on Groundhog Day.
