It was a cold and windy day, last Saturday for Gobbler’s Knob visitors, but that didn’t stop both out-of-towners and locals from passing through Barclay Square and checking out the numerous attractions.

One of the attractions this year was the Shaggy Mountain Petting Zoo — a traveling petting zoo from Central Pennsylvania.

This year, it brought a variety of animals to help celebrate Groundhog Day, including boer goats, purebred chickens and ducks.

Groundhog Day provided a variety of entertainment for all ages, and for those seeking some education, crafts and maybe even a cup of hot cocoa, a trip to the historical society did just the trick.

The Punxsutawney Area Historical & Genealogical Society entertained visiting children with the Groundhog Story Walk.

Story boards from a book about Groundhog Day were lined across the wall, allowing children to hear the story while walking from board to board.

After the story, they were able to create and then take home Groundhog Day crafts.
