Joseph T. Renwick, 73

October 20, 2014

Joseph T. Renwick, 73, of 133 Terrace Road, St. Marys, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 23, 1941 in St. Marys, the son of the late Aurelia E. O’Donnell and the Honorable State Representative William F. Renwick.

He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959, and was a 1963 graduate of Alfred University.

Joyce Ann McClincy, 83

Joyce Ann McClincy, 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at the Harrisburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 6, 1930, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Howell) Snyder and Gerald “Bus” Snyder and the only granddaughter of the late Charles Snyder, who at one time was the owner of the Pantall Hotel and Prothonotary of Jefferson County.

Joyce was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1948. She was a very stylish woman and a pet lover. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and skiing.

Agnes Johannah Keibler, 85

Agnes Johannah Keibler, 85, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.

She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Jeannette, Pa., a daughter of the late Albert Merle McCauley and Kathryn (Hays) McCauley.

On Dec. 18, 1946 she became the wife of Howard Eugene Keibler. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1990.

Agnes was a hardworking farmer's wife who wouldn't settle for the term "I can't do it." She was determined and headstrong and raised her children to be the same.

Louise Ethel Vasbinder, 84

Louise Ethel Vasbinder, 84, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Christ the King Manor.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1930, in Langville, a daughter of the late Ellwood and Grace (Geist) Yount.

In 1949, she became the wife of Harry I. Vasbinder, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2005.

Mrs. Vasbinder attended the Grange Church of God.

She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a selfless, hardworking woman that worked daily on milking cows, farm chores and most importantly, caring for her family.

Joseph Francis O’Donnell, 87

October 20, 2014

Joseph Francis O’Donnell, 87, of Sigel, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at home.

The son of the late John Patrick and Catherine Songer O’Donnell, he was born July 1, 1927, in Sigel.

He was married to the late Anna Marie Eisenman, who preceded him in death, on Oct. 25, 2008.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Joseph was a lifelong dairy farmer.

He belonged to the St. Dominics Church, of Sigel, and the Knights of Columbus.

Punxsy Concert Association to open season with music recalling '60s folk era

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Concert Association will begin its 2014-2015 season on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with William Florian, former lead singer of the Grammy-winning folk supergroup of the 1960s, The New Christy Minstrels. In his show “Those Were the Days,” he will celebrate the spirit of the 1960s at the Punxsutawney Area High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Halloweenfest to offer tricks and treats Oct. 25

Halloweenfest, sponsored by Punxsy Dental, is an afternoon of fun set for noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 in Barclay Square. Even bigger and better than last's year debut, the event promises to overflow with plenty of attractions, as well as tricks (of the magic kind, that is) and treats of all sorts for area youngsters and their families to enjoy.

Seniors shine in Senior Night win
