On Tuesday evening at The Spirit, Alexis Young (front, right) signs her official letter of intent to run for the St. Bonaventure University women's cross country team this fall.

Young is joined by her mother, Tianda (front, left), and father, John (back, left), along with Punxsy head coach Geore Wehrle (back, right).

Helman's Boxing held a Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing event at the Punxsutawney Area Community Center (PACC) last Saturday night and raised $2,200 that was donated to the center.

Pictured is Rob McCoy (right), executive director of PACC, receiving the check from Alex London (left), 12, who was the winner of his 95-pound bout, which was stopped by the referee in the second round because he was dominating the match.

Helman's Boxing recently moved its practice facility into the second floor above the PACC Fitness Center in the old school board meeting room.
