Although it seems a bit late to be saying this, "Happy New Year, everyone!"
Five days into 2012, I hope all your New Year's resolutions are still going strong. Only 361 days left after today, thanks to the extra one thrown in for the leap year.
Personally, I'm not much for making resolutions, because for the most part, I stink at following through with them.
For myself, the turning of the page on the calendar and in my life is more about reflecting on the things that have happened over the past year and looking forward to what lies ahead in the next chapter.
DUBOIS â Entering Tuesday night's contest with Punxsy, DuBois Central Catholic's record was 1-7, but Punxsy head coach Dirk Neal and his squad knew that meant the Cardinals would be gunning for a win to kick off the 2012 calendar year's schedule. The Chucks fought hard to earn a 25-22 halftime lead and outscored DCC 14-6 in the third quarter to open the game up and went on to grab a 50-38 win.

Astorino, whose father is a Punxsy local, was presented the Ridge Riley Award for "sportsmanship, scholarship, leadership and friendship." Astorino ended his collegiate career Monday at the TicketCity Bowl, during which Penn State fell 30-14. Monday's game was Astorino's 40th career start, making him the leader on the Penn State team in starts.
